Jefferson, Rock, and Walworth Counties, WI – To celebrate the connections between local businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, families, and their hometown community bank, PremierBank recognized the Power of Community Week, April 18-23, 2022 to show appreciation to the residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations in the bank’s communities.

The purpose of Power of Community Week is to highlight the longstanding tradition of local hometown community banking in Wisconsin. The role local banks play in building strong communities, and the quality products and personal services they provide gives residents, small businesses, and social service organizations the financial resources they need to succeed. As an integral part of Main Street, community banks reinvest local dollars right back into their local economies helping to create local jobs while providing financial services to their communities. Local reinvestment helps small businesses grow and ensures families can finance major purchases and build financial security.

PremierBank is proud to serve its communities through philanthropic efforts all year-round, but the bank engaged in some special activities during the Power of Community Week to align with similar activities that other community banks across the state participated in. With help from customers and community members in Jefferson, Rock, and Walworth Counties, this year PremierBank’s team members volunteered their time and donated to the following organizations as part of the 2022 Power of Community Week: Sullivan Fire Department, Johnson Creek’s Fire, and EMS Departments, Whitewater Unified School District, Janesville Police Department’s K9 Unit, the “Manna Mondays” program of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson, “Friends of Action” in Jefferson, LETTSEW K9 Foundation, and the Humane Society of Jefferson County.

“It is exciting to see the collective impact of community banks around the state during the Power of Community Week,” said Rose Oswald Poels, President and CEO of the Wisconsin Bankers Association. “From food drives to building homes and giving financial literacy presentations in K–12 classrooms, our banks and their dedicated employees continually rise to the occasion and serve.” Bankers at each PremierBank location worked together to determine which non-profits to support. Selected organizations vary from year to year. For more information on the Power of Community Week, please visit www.wisbank.com/BanksPowerWI.
